Neighborly Respect & Expectations

Lake home property that comes with caring and cooperative neighbors
is worth its price in gold! It’s added value to your property.

NOISE –fireworks, loud gatherings, music, dog barking, etc. Should quiet hours be after 11PM on weekends? Think how your actions affect the neighbors.

SMOKE – fire pits and burn barrels. It’s a HOT issue.

Burning wood, branches, leaves, or trash all produce smoke pollutants that can offend neighbors. Check the wind direction, would the smoke trail affect neighbors: filling their homes with toxic smoke, potentially causing allergic reactions, irritated eyes and sinuses, lung issues, asthma, even increased risk of strokes.

Don’t smoke out your neighbors, be prepared to douse the fire if it bothers them. Respect their enjoyment of being outdoors too.

DOGS Dogs must always be under your control. In public areas
using a leash is the best restraint. Carry bags to pick up all dog
waste along dirt or paved roads, and sidewalks. Be courteous
do not allow your pet to use a neighbor’s yard for a toilet.

Is Pet Poo hazardous to our lake water? Yes, never throw it
in the lake! Dog feces can contain harmful bacteria such as fecal
coliform and canine E. Coli. These can spread diseases like
Giardia, Salmonella, and Campylobacter, causing serious illness
in humans.

A single gram of pet waste contains an average of 23 million fecal
coliform bacteria, some of which can cause disease in humans.
Pet waste decays, using up dissolved oxygen and releasing
compounds that are harmful to fish and other animals that rely on water.
