LPA Summer Event Descriptions
Lake Walk Program
WALK WITH US!
Gain a new perspective of the lake and enjoy seeing different neighborhoods. We are happy to promote healthy living through fitness and fun by organizing four walks this summer.
Join us on Friday mornings at 9:00 AM for a one hour walk on different segments of Lake Drive. Each walk is approximately 2.5 miles long. If you prefer to go farther, go for it!

Spring Beach Clean-Up
We love clean shorelines and hope you do too!
Trash left on the beach is not just unattractive, it can wash back into the water and create safety hazards for boaters, swimmers, and aquatic life.
Come and volunteer to clean up shoreline trash.
Meet at either Sorenson or Prestrude’s Beach Access where trash bags will be supplied. Pack your own gloves. Travel to either Prestrude, Saarinen, Stone Bridge, or Lake Poinsett Access (Hammer's Pasture) parking lots and begin your cleanup
Bring the kids!
Foster the next generation of young lake caretakers by including your children on this fun hands-on experience.
The Lake Poinsett Association is a proud sponsor of SDGFP’s Adopt-A-Lake program.
Coffee Chats - Ask an Expert!
Everyone is invited to this casual coffee date to meet our guest expert. What a great opportunity to ask questions and discover what you learn from an expert could be invaluable advice!
This year's 2021 special guest is Mark Ermer, SDGFP Area Fisheries Supervisor for NE South Dakota. Click for News Flyer

The annual meeting provides an opportunity for members and friends of the LPA to hear what the LPA has been doing the past year. The agenda covers “Healthy Lake” Progress, a Financial Report, Director Elections, and other issues of interest to the membership.
Our Famous Pancake Breakfast
Spare yourself washing dirty dishes Sunday morning and join us for a delicious hot breakfast! We'll be serving pancakes and sides, with proper coffee. The LPA Breakfast brings the entire community together. Also your Lake Directories will be available for pick up!
Lake-Wide Rummage Sale Weekend
Spring clean your homes and cabins then sell those gathered treasures. June is rummage sale season at Lake Poinsett and Lake Albert. If you're not selling something, then drive around the lakes and find a great bargain.
Use our map to steer around dead ends, locate Lake Drives, and house numbers. For LPA members, this exact map is in your Lake Directory.
